  Main Features   General Description
       
Direct drop-in replacement of MC2042-4 (identical passive component requirements)   The NT20042 is a low cost, full-custom CMOS IC designed for up to 300 Mbps LED fiber optic applications.

For the minimum cost solution the NT20042 is designed as a direct drop-in replacement for the MC2042-4 meaning no modifications to existing PCBs. Identical external components can also be used to obtain the same performance.

Pulse width adjust, peaking and clamping functions are all included to allow user eye shaping to obtain the optimum optical eye.
     
Compatible with SONET OC3, ESCON and Fast Ethernet specifications  
     
Up to 100mA drive current  
     
Programmable RC peaking allowing improved rise and fall times  
     
Fabricated in standard high-volume, low cost, 'logic' CMOS process  
     
PECL compatible differential input  
     
Temperature compensation available to provide a constant output power  
     
Supports both 3.3 V and 5 V supplies  
     
High temperature operation (up to 125°C junction temperature)
