Drop-in replacement for the MC2045-2Y including identical external resistor requirements. (CAZ capacitor no longer required)   The NT20045 is the first full-custom CMOS postamplifier designed for OC3 and Fast Ethernet fiber optic applications.

For the minimum cost solution the NT20045 is designed as a direct drop-in replacement for the MC2045 meaning no modifications to existing PCBs. Identical external components can also be used to obtain the same performance. To further assist cost reduction, the auto-zero capacitor required for the MC2045 (CAZ) is no longer required.

Unlike the MC2045, the signal detect level of NT20045 is independent of Vcc.

The NT20045 provides either PECL or TTL/CMOS status output. User can choose PECL output by floating SDSEL pin, or select CMOS output by connecting SDSEL pin to GND.

The device also provides a current mirror to support the RSSI function of a TIA.
