MOST® Compatible Products

Since 2007 Nanotech Semiconductor is member of the MOST Cooperation.

The MOST (Media Oriented Systems Transport) standard defines a networking infrastructure for connecting devices that provide infotainment, communication and navigation functionality inside a vehicle.

It has been originally developed as fiber-optics network based on plastic optical fiber (POF) and specifically for the requirements of the automotive environment, such as a low susceptibility to electromagnetic interference.

In 2005/6 Nanotech introduced the NT21010 and NT2103x for use in MOST® applications. Being designed on standard CMOS and with small die sizes we are able to offer sub $1 chipset prices whilst still providing market leading performance.
Nanotech contributed to the first Newsletter of the MOST Cooperation on pages 6 and 7 with an article " Let There Be Light".

NT21010 - MOST receiver. This consists of an integrated TIA and postamp and requires no external components within the FOT. With a die area of less than 1 mm² and a typical sensitivity of -33 dBm this represents the best solution available.

NT2103x - MOST transmitter. This consists of a combined RCLED, LED and VCSEL driver that requires no external components within the FOT. With programmable options the IC can be tailored to an individual customer's needs without the requirement, and associated cost, of additional passive components. The die area is significantly less than 1 mm² allowing the cheapest and most flexible solution.
