Bristol, England, January 5th, 2009 - Nanotech Semiconductor Limited ("Nanotech"), a fabless IC company specializing in advanced Analog & Mixed-Signal ICs for fiber based communications applications, today announced availability of its pure-CMOS chipset for Fast Ethernet applications using Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) as transmission media.
The NT22010 is a Fast Ethernet Receiver IC. It consists of a highly integrated TIA and Limiting- or Post amplifier with LVDS outputs and requires no external components within the FOT. Combined with an external Photodiode, a complete light-to-logic solution is provided. With a die area of 1.3 mm² and a typical sensitivity of -29 dBm (0.3A/W) this represents the highest performance, yet lowest cost solution available.
The NT22030 and NT22031 are Fast Ethernet transmitter ICs. The NT22030 is optimized for LEDs as light source, while the NT22031 is optimized for RCLEDs. Both drivers require no external components within the FOT. The die area is less than 1 mm² allowing the cheapest and most flexible solution.
The ICs are manufactured in standard CMOS, giving an ultra low-cost, high performance, and rugged solution and are available as bare dice in waffle pack or expanded film.
